Welcome
SilverSwap, the simple, silver exchange marketplace where every item is valued in ounces of silver.
How It Works
Silver Authenticity Checklist
- Verify the weight. e.g. 1 oz Silver Britannia coins (2013–present) have a total weight of 31.21 grams.
- Check diameter and thickness against official mint specifications.
- Confirm the hallmark or mint stamp is present and correct.
- Use a simple magnet test — genuine silver is not magnetic.
- Perform a gentle ping test for a clear, ringing tone.
- Examine the edge for seams, joints, or irregularities.
- Compare with a known genuine coin or bar if available.
- For high‑value items, consider professional verification.
- Meet in a safe, well‑lit location and avoid rushed exchanges.
- Create a listing — List an item you no longer need and set the amount of silver you'd accept for it. Or, if you hold silver — whether bullion, coins, or jewellery — create a listing offering a specific amount of silver and describe the item you want in return.
- Make or receive offers — Browse the marketplace and make offers on items you want, or receive offers on your own listings. Use the built‑in messaging to agree terms and arrange the swap.
- Accept an offer — When both sides are happy, accept the offer. Each party pays a small platform fee (5% each of the current spot price) to confirm the exchange and lock in the agreement.
- Complete the swap — Meet safely, verify the silver, and complete the exchange.
SilverSwap creates a unique two‑way exchange economy. Users with unwanted items can turn them into real silver — a tangible, lasting asset. While users who already hold silver (from bullion to jewellery) can use it to acquire the items they want, often at excellent value. It's a simple, fair, and transparent way for both sides to exchange and gain value without using cash.
